Role Purpose

The CBRE Strategic Advisory team brings market-leading expertise to help clients navigate complexities to develop successful business strategies, make informed decisions, implement robust programmes and utilise the best technologies to unlock value and achieve sustainability from their real assets across real estate and infrastructure. Our clients are Investors, Developers, Occupiers, Operators and Public Bodies across all sectors. We work across the full lifecycle, from strategic inception to implementation, operation and exit.

The team comprises a diverse blend of business strategy, strategic programme management, business transformation and change, digital and real asset advisers drawn from top-tier business consulting and professional services firms. Client service excellence lies at the heart of everything we do. As a business, SA is on the cusp of an exponential growth opportunity aligned with its true market potential. SA is already on track to not only hit budget, but to achieve a significant budget stretch target. This builds on the 62% growth over budget achieved in FY22. There is a robust pipeline of future activity, which can only be delivered via the expansion of the team through strategic hires.

As at May 2023 SA were:
  • 45% ahead of budget revenue; and
  • Achieving 953%of budget EBITDA
  • Achieving 159% of EBITDA vs FY2022 YTD at this stage
The ambition of the business is supported by the wider CBRE senior management team in the UK and US, as shown by their preparedness to allow us to increase our headcount.

Digital Advisory

Our dedicated Digital Advisory pillar sits within Strategic Advisory and helps clients to realise the potential for data and digital to drive value for their businesses and assets. We take a strategic and business-led approach to help our clients identify the best digital solutions for their needs, shaping the strategy, informing the business case, and implementing sustainable digital change.

We are looking for candidates with a passion for digital transformation. Real estate sector experience is welcome but not essential, and enquiries from candidates with relevant experience in other sectors and contexts is of interest.

Key Responsibilities

General Skills:
‒ Responsible for assisting senior colleagues in undertaking client engagements and preparing deliverables on time and to a high quality, as well as leading on discrete pieces of work within projects/workstreams
‒ Engaging with clients to understand their strategic objectives, priorities, opportunities and constraints – utilising toolkits and frameworks where relevant
‒ Use quantitative analysis and qualitative methods to assess client situations and devise recommended strategies and solutions
‒ Work with specialists across CBRE to help achieve best in class solutions
‒ Assist in the preparation of clear, robust client reports, strategies and business plans
‒ Help to build relationships of trust with clients, and identify business development opportunities
‒ Support proposals and pitches, and development of market-facing material (e.g. thought leadership).
‒ Supporting internal CBRE reporting processes
‒ Experience of business analysis

Digital Specific Skills (desirable not essential):
‒ Experience with IoT/Connected Assets
‒ Experience with Smart building technology and governance
‒ Experience in developing Digital Transformation Strategies, and Digital Solutioning
‒ Experience in developing Digital Product Requirements
‒ Awareness of emerging PropTech trends such as AI, FDD, digital twins etc

Person Specification/Requirements

‒ Experience working within a major management consultancy or other relevant business environment, ideally in the following areas:
‒ Vision & Strategy
‒ Strategic Programme Management
‒ Business Transformation & Change
‒ Digital Advisory
‒ Articulate with good written and oral communication skills, including experience of preparing client reports and presentations
‒ Awareness of management consultancy tools and techniques
‒ Structured approach to problem-solving
‒ Numerate and able to support quantitative analysis
‒ Attention to detail and commitment to achieving high quality client deliverables
‒ Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
‒ Entrepreneurial and enquiring mindset
‒ Good interpersonal skills and a genuine belief in collaboration
‒ Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise own time where necessary
‒ Appetite and ability to spot opportunities for both clients and CBRE, with exposure to business development activities (e.g. pitches & presentations)
‒ Private and public sector client experience

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Masters degree or MBA preferred. Minimum 5+ years of related experience.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Real Estate license, as required by the State.
Professional certification, professional designations (e.g. BCCR, CCIM, CPM, MAI) and/or graduate level training in commercial real estate is desirable.



COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite Products. Knowledge of real estate-specific software solutions like Tririga, Manhattan CenterStone, Siterra Plus, or Argus is a plus.

Knowledge of advanced graphic/information design programs (e.g., InDesign, Visio); Strong work ethic; willingness to go the extra mile in support of the client.
