About the role?
Earning whilst learning best describes what an apprenticeship with TransPennine Express has to offer. Throughout the 2-year programme you will get the opportunity to work within your chosen field, as well as being given the opportunity to spend time in other departments of your choice, to build a network of contacts. You will obtain the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in your chosen field, as well as achieving a nationally recognised qualification. At the end of the scheme, you will apply for roles within the organisation, having built up the experience required to form our next generation of talent.
Throughout your apprenticeship we'll help you develop your industry understanding, whilst giving you the experience and exposure that'll ensure you're set up to enjoy an exciting and fulfilling career. As an apprentice with us, you'll be taking on responsibility, treated like any other colleague, and offered a variety of exciting opportunities alongside your qualification, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Gold award. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll gain a wealth of experience as well as job specific skills.
- Contracted hours will be 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- This role will be mainly based at our Head Office, in Manchester City Centre, a short walk from Oxford Road station
- The role will commence September 2023
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Raising customer sales orders
- Working closely with internal stakeholders
- Assisting the financial accountant with the management of password resets, setting up new users, and maintaining cost centres
About you?
We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, responsible, and helpful team player with a passion for problem solving and delivering excellent customer service. You'll need to be self-disciplined and committed to putting pride and effort into everything you do. You'll find yourself learning lots of new and interesting things, but you'll have the ability and mind set to deal with anything that comes your way.
- You will need to be at least 17 years old on September 1st, 2023.
- Grade A-C or 4-9 are preferable in Maths and English- if you do not have these, we will support you through completing your functional skills level 2 in both subjects
- Related work experience and volunteering will be considered as part of your application
