Senior Consultant, Business Consulting, Insurance (Life Insurance, Pensions and Investments) London, England

EY
Full Time London, England 39000 - 56000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

Drawing on its reputation for providing deep industry experience and leading consulting services to the Insurance industry, EY is rapidly expanding its Insurance Business Transformation team. This team’s purpose is to create a lasting, positive impact on the Insurance industry through building an inclusive, diverse and connected team of driven individuals with the courage to lead and inspire those around them.

We’re looking for exceptional Senior Consultants, with proven change and transformation experience in Life Insurance or Pensions and Investments, to join this team and help us to deliver this purpose.

The Opportunity

Our Insurance Business Transformation team helps our clients make more informed decisions on how to optimise their businesses, drive growth and efficiency and improve their customer journeys. This could be simplifying their operating models, improving processes, implementing data and technology-driven solutions - often guiding a client through their transformation journey.

As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on these types of business-critical solutions, engaging with clients at all levels of an organisation to help them solve their most important challenges.

So, if you are interested in being part of a growing team, working with high-profile global clients and reaching your full potential, we want to hear from you.

Your key responsibilities

  • Working with key client stakeholders to understand the challenges their businesses are facing (through workshops, interviews and data analysis), and helping to tailor solutions to address these
  • Supporting the design and delivery of complex operational improvement and business transformation projects on engagements for key Life Insurance and Pensions and Investment clients
  • Analysing complex information / data and translating into simple and clear analysis, delivering impactful presentations and supporting the production of client deliverables
  • Supporting the development of market wide solutions, proposals and bids for new clients and projects

Skills and attributes for success

We’re looking for people who can demonstrate strong experience in delivering change and transformation projects within the Life, Pension and Investment markets, whether in a provider’s business or an external advisory role. You should have experience of supporting project delivery, with an ability to develop and deliver high quality output against project objectives whilst meeting tight deadlines.

Aligned with these technical skills you’ll also have the natural curiosity and ability to understand and navigate complex processes and ambiguous client requirements, combined with a desire to initiate and effect continual improvement. Additionally, you’ll also have excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas and findings in a clear and concise manner to a wide range of stakeholders.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • An understanding of how current operational and business challenges are affecting Insurers, Brokers and other market participants within the industry
  • Operational improvement experience – Experience in the design and development of new operating models, process and efficiency improvements
  • Business Transformation experience – Experience of end-to-end business driven change through the full lifecycle (discovery, business requirements definition, design and implementation) along with an understanding of the digitisation journey many clients are currently undertaking
  • A demonstrable understanding of the UK Life Insurance or Pensions and Investment markets, commercial dynamics and change levers
  • Excellent client stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A team player attitude; you openly support, encourage and share knowledge with colleagues
  • The ability to coach and mentor junior colleagues and provide on-the-job training
  • Commitment to actively engaging with our D&I agenda and championing social purpose-driven change
  • A strong interest and commitment to developing and delivering leading edge solutions to insurance industry clients
  • The ambition to build / develop a career in advising clients around operational improvement and revenue enhancement at EY
  • A willingness to contribute towards the development of our internal team

What we look for

You’ll be part of a team of trusted business advisors to our clients, specialising within Insurance Business Transformation and helping our clients deliver against their strategies effectively and efficiently. If you’re ready to take on a wide range of responsibilities and are committed to building a better working world whilst simultaneously gaining skills to develop a career in professional services, this role is for you.

What we offer

We offer a competitive remuneration package where you’ll be rewarded for your individual and team performance. Our comprehensive Total Rewards package includes support for flexible working and career development, and with FlexEY you can select benefits that suit your needs, covering holidays, health and well-being, insurance, savings and a wide range of discounts, offers and promotions. Plus, we offer:

  • Continuous learning: You’ll develop the mindset and skills to navigate whatever comes next.
  • Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
  • Transformative leadership: We’ll give you the insights, coaching and confidence to be the leader the world needs.
  • Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.

If you can demonstrate that you meet the criteria above, please contact us as soon as possible.

The exceptional EY experience. It’s yours to build.
