This is an exciting opportunity for a brilliant communications and marketing professional to join our Visitor Experience team here at Hardwick Hall.

You'll be required to work on weekends and the odd evening shift.

As a key member of a Visitor Experience team of 5, you’ll be the driving force behind engaging new and existing audiences through our marketing and communication channels. This is a lively, forward-thinking property and the team is looking for engaging people who will enjoy this fast-paced environment.

Hardwick Hall is one of the most impressive Elizabethan buildings in the country. Celebrated internationally, the team here works hard to care for the astonishing artefacts, including on of the finest collections of tapestries in Europe.


What you'll be doing:Working with the Property team to keep the property’s webpages up to date, you'll help create an easy to understand visitor journey. You’ll be responsible for creating an effective communication and marketing plan for visitor experience, conservation, and commercial activity. You’ll also help to generate positive press coverage to raise the profile of Hardwick Hall, and attract visitors.

Fostering excellent communication with visitors and the public through events, interpretations, and media, by collaborating with the wider property is key. You’ll be supporting Hardwick Hall operationally both as a Duty Manager and as a part of the Visitor Experience team.

Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you, if you:

  • Have experience of developing and implementing marketing and communications plans
  • Have knowledge of relevant legislation: marketing codes, data protection, copyright and model release
  • Have a proven track record in creating, using and editing content in different channels (web, social media, PR, email)
  • Have the ability to spot potential risks to reputation and escalate them accordingly
  • Have excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to influence, advise and negotiate at all levels within the organisation and with external agencies
  • Are well organised and able to manage multiple priorities and varying pressures to meet measurable targets and deadlines
  • Have a creative approach to reaching both new and existing audiences
