What you’ll do
Heading up a newly formed remit, the Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing a strategic agenda to support the enhancement of payment optionality across Vodafone UK and for delivering the Collections strategy across our Consumer and SOHO (Small Office, Home Office) functions.
This role is critical in driving value across multiple disciplines and requires a leader with a broad set of skills across Payment, Collections, Customer Experience and Compliance, to ensure optimisations are customer & compliance led. Creating a framework to drive performance management that enables best in class performance across Collections will also be critical. Strong interpersonal skills will be essential, as this role has significant exposure to Senior Leaders across the scope of Vodafone UK, including Vodafone Business Units, Commercial Operations and Finance. As a leader within the Billing, Credit Risk & Collections function, the Senior Manager will also be integral in supporting the new operating model, developing talent and driving the business forward to unlock value in areas with high potential.
Accountability for the assessment and ownership of the payments landscape across Vodafone UK- The creation and management of enhancements in payment optionality across Vodafone UK journeys to improve customer experience
- Responsible for the creation, implementation and performance management of Collections, creating a coherent commercial, customer and systems strategy, optimising the collections path and governance across Consumer & SOHO. All of which need to be aligned to key performance indicators (improved collections & reduced bad debt, Collections complaints and Payment enhancement conversion)
- Setting the roadmap for the team, determining the key opportunities to drive value into the business
- Interlock on all decisioning in a collaborative manner with the Commercial Operations Director and Head of Vodafone Business Care
- Customer led drive to improve the experience across the collections path, ensuring compliant by design, and accountable for the implementation of initiatives to support optimal performance
- Effectively leading the team to create a partnership and collaborative culture, to consistently deliver business outcomes and drive continuous improvements.
Who you are
Proven senior managerial experience leading a team within the financial services or telecoms industries, with focus on Customer Experience and Compliance- Leadership skills and capability to drive change will be critical in this new function, as will a mindset focused on ‘creating the future’ and ‘experiment, learn fast’ to deliver a strategy & roadmap of activities and ensure effective business partnering to deliver business outcomes
- An influential leader, with proven communication skills up to Board level, with the ability to articulate a clear direction to senior stakeholders and uphold challenge & discussion, as well as partner and support collaborative relationships between Strategy and Operations
- Ability to optimise and work in a lean and agile manner, iterating continuous improvements across a number of topics
- Experience in collections management and payment strategy is desirable
- Stakeholder management skills and the confidence & persona to report into Executive level forums; presenting results, findings, initiatives and difficult messages clearly and succinctly
- Analytical thinker - able to identify opportunities and drive insight and appropriate action from data
- Track record in successful people management, providing support & coaching to develop team members to excel in role and partner effectively with stakeholders across the business.
