We’re embracing an agile way of working; this Senior Commercial Analyst position will help build, automate, and present new reporting across Tesco Bank. The position is within the Commercial Optimisation & Planning team who are responsible for commercial performance, reporting, cost management and pricing. The role is pan-banking covering loans, cards, savings and money services products.

The team are evolving, and this position will provide analysis and reporting across banking products working closely with senior management to optimise business performance.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, Strategic Performance & Planning.
You will have
  • Strong Commercial Acumen: Applying an understanding of the business environment and objectives to develop solutions.
  • Previous experience in production of Reporting and ability to provide technical guidance when required on creating relevant, reasoned, and effective reports.
  • Strong Data Collection and Analysis skills: Experience making sense of complex data sets and trends to use in reports to help guide decision making.
  • Advanced Excel/VBA Skills
  • Experience using BI and reporting tools - Power BI is desirable
  • Experience within retail banking is desirable
  • SAS skills desirable – willingness to complete a SAS course if this is not a current skill
  • Ensure Accountability: Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.

The Role

  • Data reporting: Producing reports for senior management and making recommendations based on the data.
  • Data Collection and analysis: Conduct research using primary and secondary data sources and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
  • Commercial Management: Interpret commercial results and provide insights and recommendations on commercial trends. Help managers make effective decisions based on the data, and ensure they are clear on the implications.
  • Business Insight: Applies knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance Tesco Bank’s goals. Monitors business news and market changes for impact on the business or on own expertise area; uses this to shape decisions.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on using research and analysis to develop a comprehensive understanding of market conditions in order to facilitate the success of a brand, product or service.
