Job description

Woking Homes is a residential care home for older people. The role of Senior Care Assistant is new to Woking Homes. We have one full time position available, 37.5 hrs per week working mainly 9am to 5pm and 1pm to 9pm, including alternate weekends. Pay Rate £12.50 per hour.

  • You will be assisting the Team Leader on duty to supervise and support the team of care staff, ensuring that our residents receive high quality person centred care that is delivered in a competent, caring and compassionate way.
  • You will be the lead person for using the Restore 2 Blue Box, health deterioration monitoring system. This is the regular monitoring of residents’ vital signs. Full training will be given.
  • To liaise with G.P’s and other health care professionals.
  • Supervise, support and monitor care staff daily, oversee dining room service.
  • To assist Team Leaders in maintaining resident’s individual plans of care, monthly reviews and all documents relating to their wellbeing.
  • To assist the Team Leader in dealing with accidents and health emergencies while on shift, contact the appropriate medical advice or assistance.
  • Ensure that incidents, accidents and complaints are reported accurately and in a timely manner.
  • On occasion to assist the Team Leader with the administration of medication as prescribed and in accordance with Woking Homes Policies and Procedures, participate in the ordering of medication.
  • Train and mentor new staff
  • To help with the admission and discharge of residents, including listing of resident’s property/clothing.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Experience:

  • Care: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • NVQ Level 3 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care (required)
