Responsible for implementation and improvement of the software for product development and sustaining projects. Provides training on tools to engineers and other CAD users. General CAD Administration Responsible for administration of Pro-Engineer, Windchill, Icepak, and Ansys for configurations, environments, and licenses. Investigate, develop, and implement methods to integrate the strengths of MCAD software and PDM software into engineering, design, certification, and planning processes. Interact with the IT team to design and support MCAD environments and data management. Interact with the PCB department to improve Electronic CAD (ECAD) and MCAD translation. Automate processes whether standardized through workflows, templates, and other means. Ability to train and mentor CAD users. Must be able to document and communicate training materials and work instructions. Provide employee training for new versions of software. Responsible for coordinating computer acquisitions and installation of software. Responsible for validating all improvements and software upgrades (Pro-E, Windchill, or PDMlink). Maintain and update the department weblinks . Responsible for setting up requirements and coordinating with procurement on 3rd party CAD data base (STEP file, Pro-E and drawing files) through Statement of Work. Responsible for coordinating and complying with OEM's CAD data requirements. Pro-E Administration Provide training and guidance to design engineers as well as implement automation methods and techniques. Publish Tips, Techniques, and Best Practices for use of ProE and Windchill. Develop and maintain CAD Libraries: PEM hardware, Labels, Screws, Forms/Burrings, etc. Develop and maintain Material Definitions (standard material properties). Develop and maintain and . Develop and maintain system configuration files (config.pro, config.win, default layers). Develop and maintain system to retrofit old and existing models to latest layer and datum standards. Develop and maintain standard tables, drawing formats, and dtl files. Develop and maintain standard notes for sheet metal, plastic, machined parts, outline drawings and Work Instruction for outline drawing. The salary range of $108,000 – $181,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. What We're Looking For: BS or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related field. Masters degree a plus. Minimum 5 years of Pro-Engineer experience and CAD administration, with at least 8 years’ overall engineering experience. Experience in migrating from Intralink to Windchill and from Pro/E to Creo 2. Knowledge of TeamCenter/NX/Expedition. Dimensioning and tolerance per ASME Y14.5M-1994. Global Drawing Requirement Manual (DRM). Product Lifecycle Development Processes and configuration control (revisions, release level, approvals). Airbus Digital Mock Up (DMU) requirement preferred. A350 3D CAD Modeling/Exchange process and tools (CatiaV5, QChecker, PDMLinkCC) preferred. Bombardier Digital Mock Up (DMU) requirement preferred. Experience in the creation and management of CAD standard libraries. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple projects at any given time. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.
