Senior Buyer (part Time) - Chertsey

We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team on a part time basis. As the NHSSC School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the SFVS team including the HR and people management. Also, within scope of this role you will be responsible for the contract and supplier management ensuring our suppliers adhere to contractual KPI's and other deliverables including supporting sustainability and other Government initiatives that are introduced during the lifetime of the contract.
Working with the Governance team you will be involved and/or manage appropriate stages of the NHSSC: Food Procurement Framework from strategy definition and creation to the tendering process and launch, through to supplier relationship management and continuous improvement.
More about the role: Manage the SFVS team of 3 to ensure SFVS operates efficiently and that the systems and processes align with NHS Supply Food processes.
Ensure a robust supplier management system is in place for all suppliers and distributors to ensure any issues are managed smoothly whilst still meeting all SLAs and KPIs.
Constantly strive to implement improved solutions to the business, recognizing supplier innovations and opportunities and maximizing the benefits from the supply chain and whilst achieving SLA's and KPI's.
Regularly review supplier and distributor performance and ensure operational and contractual standards are met against agreed KPIs and ensure that any customer concerns are dealt with effectively by the team.
Hold regular review meetings with all key suppliers and distributors to ensure SLA and KPIs are on track and investigate further opportunities for business.
Manage the tender process.
Ensure the review and maintenance of SFVS processes in line with operating procedures

- Ideally you will have food buying experience
- Experience of using MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Experience in team and stakeholder management, Able to negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Effective communication skills focused on performance and delivering results
- Able to make the right decisions to ensure budgets are met and savings delivered
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
