The Role Developing complex strategies to enable effective negotiations for high value and strategic services and/or materials. The procurement strategies developed by the Buyer are created to drive cost improvement, and improve the company's security of supply. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the application of the site's Procurement process for nominated commodity areas: Process Chemicals, Indirects, Professional Consultancy, MRO Services Lead the evaluation of bids to determine optimum value and gain alignment from key stakeholders. Lead negotiations and ensure strategies are developed in support of the negotiations. Identify potential new suppliers, develop, review, and issue requests for quotations and request for tenders. Provide expertise in analysis, evaluation, qualification, and selection of suppliers. Monitor market trends and conditions in the creation of the procurement strategy. Manage strategic and high value supplier relationships. Coordinate the development, issuance, and evaluation of “Requests for Proposals” and “Requests for Tender” packages. Negotiate high value, strategic, and complex s for certain commodities or geographical area, including global s. Preparation of strategic, high value, or complex procurement strategies. Supplier selection based on bid analysis and supplier evaluation criteria. Management of the processes to identify, develop, and qualify alternative suppliers to ensure security of supply. Evaluate implementation of methods (JIT, MRP, consignment, and VMI) to optimize high value commodity inventory levels. Drive continuous improvement for assigned commodity, service or geographical area, and global s. About You You will be motivated, talented, self-starter with the desire to develop. The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualifications: Required: Business Studies or equivalent relevant Degree. Advantageous: CIPS membership (by examination). Required: minimum 5 years purchasing experience ideally in a manufacturing environment. Required: good written and oral communication. Required: well developed analytical and organisational skills. Required: working knowledge of Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Required: Proven negotiation ability. Required: Experience developing and implementing s and ongoing vendor performance management. Preferred: working SAP MM knowledge for maintaining purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
