Role: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst
Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA
Hours: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: £40,000 (dependent on experience)
About the role…
Our IT Team is expanding and we are now looking for a Senior BI Analyst to join us! In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the BI function within the Group by following our data and analytical strategy.
Reporting into the Head of Data & Analytics, your fundamental goal will be to support the business by providing insights and data to help maximise profits and increase efficiency.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, strong communicator and have excellent knowledge around information gathering with a focus on building information systems in a structured manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for building and maintaining tools, reporting and dashboards in Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud, in line with design and development standards.
Strong knowledge of SQL and ability to write complex queries and create models.
Work closely with the business to provide both proactive and requested reporting and analysis to provide insight for business reviews, governance and delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
Validate and cleanse data from source systems.
Produce and deliver agreed reporting and dashboards to relevant stakeholders.
Drive remedial action and continuous improvement of data quality.
Produce daily, weekly and monthly system reconciliation reports and data integrity toolkits
Work under the guidance of the Head of Data & Analytics to provide both proactive and requested reporting and analysis to provide insight for business reviews, governance and delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
Produce scorecards to promote data quality as well as enhancements to metric updates.
Conduct analytical reviews of our current data to identify any trends, business opportunities or insights and provide commentary and context as outputs.
Contribute to benchmark reporting across the global estate by working closely with other analysts.
Candidate Requirements:
4 years' experience working within Business Intelligence roles.
Excellent knowledge of Power BI/Power Query/DAX.
Power BI – ability to build dashboards and manage administration ownership.
Strong SQL skills.
Experience developing self-service dashboards and reports.
Excellent knowledge in querying and building data sets.
Strong communication and information gathering skills with a focus on building information systems in a structured manner.
Desirable:
Experience of working with senior stakeholders.
Experience of working as part of a senior team.
Experience of working with SAP technologies.
Experience of data warehousing and ETL processes.
Experience managing a team.
