Location(s): Edinburgh New Uberior House or Halifax Trinity Road. We work in a hybrid approach with one to two days per week in office.

The Risk Data Transformation Lab is responsible to build the next generation of data assets and enable transition from current to future data. Our lab doesn't do all the data work but will help with work that benefits everyone.
Joining the Risk Data Transformation Lab will give you the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a great team working together to deliver superb results following the Agile Project Methodology. You will be an important part of the team, working with Product Owners (PO), Engineering Leads (EL), Scrum Masters (SM) and various Engineering colleagues to deliver valuable outcomes.
So, what would I focus on in this role?
Responsible for facilitating conversation to agree final requirements scope to keep the delivery on track.- Understand business problems, critically evaluating of business ideas from a customer and a commercial point of view. Identify underlying business and data needs to be addressed and challenge existing practices.
- Extract, document and validate data requirements and proposed solutions with stakeholders and gaining approval. Responsible for closing debate on requirements scope to keep the delivery on track.
- Support Feature Team with testing preparation and acceptance testing to ensure the solution meets the identified business need, including defining acceptance criteria that fulfil the team’s definition of "Done".
- Ensure proposed solutions align with Group policies and all regulatory and statutory requirements.
What experience do you need to apply for this role?
We’re looking for the following essential skills and experience:
Great communicator, dynamic and adaptable with a flexible approach, open to learning new skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
A natural facilitator, negotiator and decision-maker, collaborating across all teams within the Lab.
Understanding of, or experience in, delivery using the Agile methodology
Understanding of data schemas and foundational data engineering principles (e.g. data pipelines, schemas, ETL etc)
Understanding of business analysis methodologies for data products particularly using analytical thinking and problem solving
Desirable:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms for data engineering and analytics is highly recommended
- Experience working within a regulatory risk change environment would be an advantage
- We'd welcome people from financial services industry organisations; or consultancy environment, preferably with experience in having worked on financial services projects.
