Position: Bookkeeper
Job Summary:
Kan Herb Company has been providing quality herbal supplements to acupuncturists and their clients for over 30 years. Under new leadership and management, Kan is adding to our team with this newly created position who will report to the CEO and play a key role in the Kan’s operations. This position is eligible for Company’s profit-sharing program, among other benefits.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare financial statements and management reports and complete month-end close
· Run payroll twice a month, calculating volume bonuses, retirement plan contributions, etc., (currently using Gusto.com)
· Oversee the payment of invoices and disbursement of checks, and reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis
· Work with CEO to prepare and track annual budget and cash flow forecasting, including tracking of costing of manufactured goods
· Assist with annual audit and tax compliance
· Perform general bookkeeping and other related duties for the Company
· For the right candidate, office management and/or HR duties will be considered to be included in this role (which would increase the hourly pay)
Requirements and Qualifications:
· Proficiency in Excel is a must; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central Finance module) is a bonus.
· Ideal but required: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or other related disciplines or equivalent working experience
· At least three years of relevant experience, preferably with manufacturing experience
· Knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles, accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
· Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal and written skills
· Detail-oriented and self-motivated
