Enterprise Bill Payments and Instrument Management (EBPIM) mission is to power best-in-class issuer agnostics bill payment experiences and business growth through innovative platform products and services. By seamlessly integrating solutions to power innovative payment experiences for American Express customers. EBPPI collects over a trillion dollars in 27 markets covering 20+ of the biggest schemes: (ACH, BACS, SEPA) with a roadmap to integrate with emergent Real Time Rails and hide the complexity of handling money. A critical part of the roadmap is to develop the next generation Card Bill Pay and Biller platform capabilities.
At its core, the team’s data architect/engineer will be responsible for platform data governance, documentation of data sets and processes in current state, and supporting transformation initiatives in ensuring adequate data governance. The role will report into EBPIM’s Business Architect and the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop into a product manager or business architect.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Ensure the product team is compliant with all internal AXP data governance processes
- Partner with the engineering data steward to ensure that data initiatives are prioritised and undertaken within mandate timelines
- Documentation of current state of data sources, partnering with our payment history product manager to ensure history is designed in a usable and consistent format
- Partner with the teams reporting product owner to ensure appropriate data reporting is in line with leadership expectations and industry best practice
- Define and maintain our overarching data strategy for bill payments and payment instruments
- Maintain a view of the external billing landscape and be able to translate industry movement into capabilities that ensure business value for EBPIM and American Express
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills and experience in a data engineer, or data steward role
- Experience working in payments, with experience in product management, engineering or architecture roles
- Self-driven and naturally curious with a desire to take ownership of problems and find a path to resolution is instrumental to the role
