Senior Associate, Construction Disputes & Advisory, Delay Analysis/Forensic Planning - Managing Director

This position supports my client in Construction Disputes & Advisory practice - one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the business.

The Construction Disputes & Advisory team is growing for my client and I am seeking analysts to join the teams in either the UK, Middle East, Far East or Australia offices.

The businesses construction dispute resolution professionals provide expert advice and independent professional opinion on some of the world’s largest, most complex, and high-profile capital project disputes. Courts, corporations, and tribunals rely on my client to get to the nub of the issue in any given dispute. They are able to develop efficient and robust delay and cost/quantum analyses and present conclusions in a clear, concise, and objective manner to enable the resolution of complex disputes.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Associate - Managing Director, you will assist in the preparation of pre-dispute advice, litigation support and expert witness testimony, claims assessment and schedule analysis. You will be able to perform data research, management, and analysis. You will support the appointed expert in preparing and presenting results to clients and tribunals.

Requirements:

As an integral member of the team, you’ll:

  • Have solid analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, and be proficient in planning and data analysis techniques and technology (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project, Power project, Excel)

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Be highly motivated, self-starting, curious and have a hunger to learn and develop yourself

  • Be agile and flexible, comfortable with ambiguity and be able to apply yourself to new situations

  • Be self-aware, enjoy working in a team environment and collaborating with others

  • Come from an engineering, quantity surveying or construction/major projects background

  • Be working towards chartered status and have significant practical experience. Experience performing analysis on dispute related assignments would be considered an advantage, as would a post-graduate degree in a construction law or management discipline.

  • Be prepared to spend short stints abroad based on the location of international clients.

  • Proven revenue generation of £4m to £5m per year in consulting and/or professional services

  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills

  • Experience working within matrixed organization of top consulting or professional services firm is a plus

  • Highly motivated, meticulous, and energetic individual willing to work within in a team structure

  • Close attention to detail, including careful record keeping regarding all sales activity

  • Maintains knowledge of available tools to improve efficiency, self-reliance, and effectiveness

  • Business Groups: Deep knowledge of the services provided by each practice area, organisational structure, and any conflict/relationship nuances specific them

Salary Package and Incentives

Negotiable Basic Salary between £300,000 to £700,000 + Lucrative performance related bonus + Benefits package
