Are you someone who sees themselves as a specialist then this role is for you! We are looking for a Senior Assistant Company Secretary to join our legal team.
A bit about the job:
This is a technical role where you will be responsible for supervising the compliance of Aviva plc and General Accident plc with the terms and rights of their preference shares as well as giving on the job mentoring and support for junior team members.
Within this role you will also be responsible for compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, Listing Rules (LR) and Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules (DTR), and Market Abuse Regulations (MAR). In particular:

Providing governance advice regarding the Companies Act, LTRs, DTRs and Corporate Governance Code requirements to management/directors as required working closely with Group Functions on Corporate Transactions

Playing a key role in the preparation of Aviva's external reporting, including the governance content of the Annual Report & Accounts, Sustainability Report and TCFD

Ensuring compliance with the Market Abuse Regulations, including streamlining and utilising technology options, collaborating closely with the Share plans team as required
- Acting as Company Secretary to Committees as and when required and supporting the AGM Process and acting as LR, DTR and Code technical guide within the Function and maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant corporate governance issues
Skills and experience we're looking for:

Qualified Company Secretary via qualifications or experience

Customer oriented and a subject matter authority in corporate governance and developments in the listed company environment

Forward and outward looking approach to governance and industry developments

High-level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive and a desire to improve existing practices and innovate, with an ability to work on own initiative

Salary £90,000 - £110,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
