We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Apparel Designer to join our in-house “Own Brand” Design Centre team at Footasylum. We are home to multiple brands across men’s, women’s, kid’s and accessories.
This Role gives great opportunity to the right candidate to work on Footasylum’s “own brands” such as Zavetti Canada, KWD, Alessandro Zavetti and many more.
About You
The successful candidate should have previous experience working within a similar role in the Highstreet Fashion Industry across Mens, Ladies, Juniors and accessories.
You will be self-motivated and have good time management with the ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines and deliver results within specified time frames. You must possess the ability to react quickly to changing demands and priorities.

The Apparel Design Team functions as a part of the larger Design Centre and we work extremely closely with Product Development and Buying teams.
Responsibilities
- Managing timelines from Critical Path for key brand categories/drops and recognise when to start design process.
- Researching seasonal brand direction, trend overviews, and design direction for own brand whilst maintaining brand DNA and presenting these to brand managers/buyers.
- Attending UK festivals and social events to identify the Footasylum consumer, and travel overseas for research development.
- Work with Senior team to create design strategy for each brand/season and attending brand meetings.
- Taking ideas from research to design concept and demonstrating advanced understanding of clear, concise technical CAD design specifications.
- Working to deadlines and creating CAD designs within specified timeframes.
- Pushing brand innovation by exploring new construction and fabric development to move all own brands forward.
- Understanding of Children’s safety standard guidelines and ensuring these are followed.
- Working directly with overseas suppliers and travelling for brand development and production trips.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with the wider Design and Buying teams.
- Involvement with recruiting other members of the team.
- Monitoring and supporting the mid and junior members of the design team and ensuring a culture of continuous improvement is maintained.
- Forward planning ranges for future seasons.
- Assisting with comments on samples/fabrics/lab dips approvals accordingly, and attending fit meetings.
