Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and north east Hampshire. We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Processes approved requisitions into official purchase orders in line with Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders via the Trusts electronic procurement system or Government Procurement Card.

· Achieve best value for money during the processing of purchase orders by using approved suppliers and National or Local contracts where possible. To become a recognised expert within the Trusts’ for the procurement of these allocated items.

· Liaise with customers to help determine their needs and assist with any problems concerning their requirements to ensure orders are placed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety (including Safety Alerts that require product recall), Fire Regulations and Medical Devices Policy.

· Handling and responding to purchase order queries received from Customers and Suppliers to facilitate a timely resolution.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

· Previous admin experience

· Previous NHS experience

· NHS System Knowledge- SBS (desirable)
