Our summer study school is buzzing with activity!
That’s why we need a team of well organised, professional, and fun Senior Activity Leaders. Your job is to manage, supervise, and support our Teachers and Activity Leaders in delivering our high-quality summer activity programme to our students.
We have positions for Senior Activity Leaders based at one of our English Language schools, in Canterbury, Cambridge, London Uxbridge, Central London, Bournemouth, or Oakham. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet new people and cultures. You’ll further your leadership experience and earn money over the summer months. If you’re not local to us, we can even support you with a residential accommodation package.
You will be instrumental in coordinating events and activities for our overseas students who generally stay with us for 7-14 days to learn English. With your help and guidance, they are immersed into the UK culture, supporting them on their English language learning journey.

Here’s some of what you’ll be doing:
- Working closely with the Activities Manager, you will be supporting and the team of Activity Leaders. This includes supervising and briefing them on their duties, procedures and any risk assessments involved in the activity session or excursion. These may include sports, competitions, quizzes, workshops in craft/dancing/magic and excursions or events (to name a few)
- Encouraging and supporting students to take-part in fun activities or events, while maintaining accurate registers and reporting feedback to Activities Managers
- Carry out mealtime and free-time supervision; with some ‘lights-out’ duties (if residential)
- Caring for the health, safety, and wellbeing of our Activity Leaders and students
- Join us for contracts of 2-6 weeks over the summer
- Working 48 hours per week over a 6-day week. This is a fully immersive working experience
- Basic rate of £500.16 per week for 23+, £488.64 for 18-22 + holiday entitlement. Increments available.
Some of what you’ll need to be a Senior Activity Leader:
- You will need experience of organising activities for this senior position
- Lots of confidence and enthusiasm. Be flexible, adaptable, and able to think on your feet
- Be a great communicator with a good level of spoken and written English equivalent to CEF level C1/CAE/IELTS 7.0
- You must be professional and friendly. Safeguarding is a big part of the job, and we take it very seriously. So, as you would expect, if successful we will facilitate an Enhanced DBS check as part of our safer recruitment policy
- Previous experience of working in a Summer School would be advantageous
