We are currently looking for a Senior Active Travel Consultant to join our West Region team based at our London and/or Slough office. The position itself will include, but not be limited to:
- To support senior staff, and help manage schemes, providing technical support for a wide range of project types and consultancy commissions focusing primarily on active travel schemes of various size, scope and complexity.
- Project Manage and lead on active and sustainable travel projects for a variety of clients – being responsible for project delivery, costs and client satisfaction.
- Provide weekly monitoring information against key indicators. Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QA system Liaise with other Project Centre staff.
- Check output produced by more junior staff in terms of reports/drawings/ graphics etc. Assist in developing Quality Assurance systems and procedures in the service area.
- Respond to client and customer enquiries when necessary and ensuring that their needs are met.
Our ideal candidate will have but not limited to:
- Relevant Degree or HND/HNC (preferably in engineering) or equivalent qualifications.
- Membership of a professional institution (e.g. MILT, MICE or MCIHT) or aiming towards. Consideration given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification.
- A minimum of 5 year’s relevant experience.
- Sound understanding of current active travel thinking, which includes encouraging cycling and walking in line with national targets, combined with some more traditional highways and transportation techniques and principles, and/or a track record in transport planning, design and/or delivery.
- Expertise in AutoCAD design highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cycle infrastructure design standards and current best practice.
