The SEND Development Team has an exciting opportunity for a SEND Family Engagement Practitioner as part of the DfE Short Breaks Innovation programme. This is a post to 31 March 2024, however there may be scope to extend this subject to further funding from the DfE. About you We are looking for: an experienced practitioner who can build positive working relationships with children and young people with special educational needs (SEND), their families, and professionals from schools and across the council a motivated, flexible and committed individual who shares our passion for achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND a team player who recognises the importance of the voice of the child in decision-making About the role As SEND Family Engagement Practitioner: You will know how to quickly build trusted, positive relationships with families and children and young people with SEND. You will work with children and young people with Autism, Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and behaviours that challenge and their families to identify social activities that provide opportunities to build self-confidence and skills that build resilience. You will work with schools and providers to support and encourage attendance for children and young people that are reluctant to engage in education.
