Job description
There is still high demand for school staff from our clients so we are continuing to look to expand our team of experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work in SEN schools in Handsworth, Tile Cross, Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding areas with children with additional needs, including autistic spectrum condition, ADHD and specific communication difficulties. Experience of Makaton, PECs and Team-Teach is preferable, but not essential.
Job Description
- The successful SEN Teaching Assistants will:
- Have a passion and commitment to supporting children who have SEN
- Be confident in building effective relationships with pupils on a 1:1 basis
- Encourage pupils to interact with others
- Support teachers with planning, preparation and carrying out of inspiring activities
- Have strong behaviour management skills
- Be flexible, dynamic and compassionate, with excellent interpersonal skills
- Encourage independence, helping the children with transition around school and personal care.
Requirements:
- The successful SEN Teaching Assistants must:
- Have a minimum of NVQ level 3 or the equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Have experience and knowledge of working with pupils with autism and SEN
- Previous experience of working in a SEN school or a Resource Base
- Have a legal right to work in the UK
- Have/acquire an enhanced DBS and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
- Provide 2 professional childcare & education references covering the last 2 years
- Shortlisted candidates will be subject to Teacher Regulation Agency checks and an online search as part of Ambassadors Resourcing Safer Recruitment checks
