We are currently seeking a talented and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 10 child, providing invaluable support in a SEMH School based in Warrington.
The Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of a Year 10 student with ASD and ADHD. Your duties will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to the student, assisting with their academic progress and personal growth.
- Implementing strategies and interventions to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- Collaborating closely with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create and implement personalised learning plans.
- Promoting a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to foster the student's social and emotional well-being.
- Utilising your creativity to engage the student in stimulating educational activities, tailored to their individual needs.
- Tracking and monitoring progress, regularly communicating with relevant stakeholders to ensure holistic support.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working with children or young individuals with SEMH needs, particularly ASD and ADHD.
- A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring young people to reach their full potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, resilience, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the student.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, childcare, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
