We are looking for a Selection Assistant to work within the established admissions procedures with minimum supervision and to ensure that the admissions service provided, both internally within the University and externally to applicants, meets the agreed standards and service levels.
The role holder will be expected to work flexibly in an ever-changing environment as well as dealing with less routine queries, issues and requests referring more complex situations to a more relevant person.

What will you be doing?
As a Selection Assistant, on a day-to-day basis you’ll be processing applications using the University's Student Records and other systems to store, retrieve and maintain accurate records.
You’ll contribute towards the selection process through checking that applicants have met specified entry criteria by undertaking an initial check of applications, against basic academic entry criteria.
You’ll be responsible for processing and answering emails from some prospective applicants and offer holder who are thinking of applying or have applied to study at the University of Bristol. You’ll be using Microsoft Dynamics to manage your enquiries and respond to enquirers in a timely manner.

You should apply if
- You have experience of assessing and responding to non-routine work and situations
- You have experience of working independently as well as within a team is essential.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can grasp and retain new information and systems quickly.
- You have the ability to interpret complex qualifications for decision making
- You have experience of using excel to store, manipulate, and retrieve information.
- You’re comfortable working to strict deadlines
- You can provide excellent customer services to applicants and their influencers (teachers, parents and carers).
Experience of working in the higher education sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
