The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is a highly successful Multi Academy Trust (MAT) encompassing six secondary schools, 13 primary schools, a Teaching School Hub, and School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider. Our schools are based in North Birmingham, Tamworth, Lichfield, North Warwickshire and Coventry. A further 2 schools will join the ATLP in the near future.

Due to our growth, we are seeking to appoint a HR Administration and Payroll Officer to join our experienced HR team, based in Sutton Coldfield. You will be required to deliver an effective HR administration and payroll service on behalf of the Trust, ensuring an effective, efficient and responsive service. You will be expected to work with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate, will have previous experience in a similar fast-paced environment, coupled with exposure to various HR administration tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • undertake administration of HR contracts and new starter packs/information for new employees to the Trust
  • completion of pre-employment checks, e.g. Disclosure and Barring checks, Right to Work, references etc.
  • support the timely delivery of the Trust payroll and pension administration, ensuring compliance with company policies, service level agreements and legislative requirements
  • support the finance team and other senior leaders by providing accurate and timely information and reporting
  • complete statutory documentation and submissions in line with regulatory bodies and agencies including Teachers Pensions and Local Government Pensions (LGPS)
  • assist with other human resources tasks and processes related to recruitment/contracts administration and payroll

What you will need to succeed:

  • previous experience of working in a HR administration or payroll role would be advantageous
  • excellent IT skills, including the use of Word and Excel
  • high attention to detail and able to work to a high level of accuracy
  • be emotionally intelligent with the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • the ability to work in a fast paced role
