Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, the Security Team Manager (STM) manages a diverse team of Aviation Security Officers (ASO)s within our security department.
The job holder will have a passion for leading people, a track record of managing large teams of up to 30 people with a focus on delivering exceptional results, in a fast-paced operation where they will balance the needs of a complex, regulated environment with the needs of our people and customers.

A day in the life of!
- Operating across a 24-hour operation including day and night shifts.
- Front line communication and primary escalation point for your team of Aviation Security Officers.
- Lead and manage the department management KPIs including colleague engagement survey scores and people policy management such as absence, capability, disciplinary, and grievance.
- Carry out colleague welfare calls, and completion of RTWs on first day of a colleagues return from absence.
- Responsible for a compliant security operation with DfT national aviation security regulation within all terminal security areas
- Monitor and measure the KPIs of the operational security function; including queue times (agreed SLAs), the throughput of customers and the standards of customer service offered by security colleagues.
- Responsible for a compliant security operation with DfT national aviation security regulation across the airfield, and cargo security locations.
- Plan to ensure that we meet service level agreements within all areas of responsibility

- The ability to successfully adapt to challenging internal/external operational demands
- Demonstrable experience of improving performance by introducing more efficient working practices/technology
- Analytical thinking and ability to interpret data and use it to drive continuous improvement
- Proven planning capability
- Computer literate; for example, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office
- Utilise operational off-peak periods effectively
- Able to drive efficiency within the security department by focusing on productivity to maintain or enhance operational performance
