This is a key role working as part of our professional Security team taking responsibility for delivering proactive and effective prevention activities and emergency response in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, contractors, living collection and assets both by day and night.
With flexible hours available to support the team during our peak periods, this opportunity would be perfect for someone looking to gain experience in a unique Security environment, or supplement another role with additional income.
As a Security Support Officer, you will:
- Maintain the highest level of security at the zoo delivering proactive and effective prevention activities and emergency response
- Conduct effective security tasks including surveillance, people searches, foot and mobile patrols during the day and night
- Support the Security team ensuring that regular reviews of security vulnerabilities are identified and highlighted, addressed or suitably mitigated
- Demonstrate a high level of competency in the use of security systems to maximise their operational benefit
The Package
- Temporary contract until September 2023, with a possibility of this being extended
- Minimum 8 hours per week, with up to 40 hours per week available during busy periods
- £10.98 per hour

Our Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Full driving licence
Although not essential, the following would be desirable:
- Experience working within a high visitor environment such as a leisure or visitor attraction, stadium, airport, large shopping facility etc.
- SIA front line door supervisor licence
- First aid at work
