About the role

Campus Services within Estates and Digital Services Department are looking to recruit Security Patrol Officers to join the Security Team. The purpose of this role is to deliver an excellent customer focused security service to university staff, students, visitors and other external services.


As a Security Patrol Officer you will provide visible patrols of the University buildings and Estate to reassure staff, students and visitors and deter criminal activity and antisocial behaviour, including Main Campus and Accommodation. With the support of Control Room colleagues and the relevant escalation process, you will provide the first response to incidents that may require dynamic risk assessments and need to adapt responses to the individual case.

About you

We are looking for someone who can deliver a customer focused service, to ensure we can provide a safe and secure environment for staff, students and the public. The role requires someone who can quickly make decisions, using their communication skills to ensure you can take control of a developing situation. No two days in this role are the same, if you want variety, a great team to work with and a safe and secure environment, this is the role for you. Previous security experience is not required, as we will provide relevant training.
