MTC is a socially driven impact organisation that continues to work to transform lives through an education, training and employment (ETE) based focus. We are taking the lessons and experienced gained from working in the probation sector for six years to inform our new approach, working to provide ETE services to disadvantaged individuals and communities in custody sectors and other environments.
Building on the successes of MTC in the US, by providing opportunities to change for individuals in danger of entering, or already in the criminal justice system. With our support, they're able to transform their lives, turning away from crime to become stronger, more positive members of their community.
What will the role involve?
MTCs mission is to provide a high quality, caring and compassionate welfare and security service to detained people. The Training Manager will play a pivotal role in MTCs growth plans at Manston by managing and developing our operational training function to ensure all new employees are trained to the required standard & our refresher training schedule is rolled out successfully.
The Training Manager will lead on the planning of the training timetable, mentoring and coaching the operational trainers, ensuring the end-to-end training and development schedule across our Manston site operations runs smoothly.
The successful individual will be based at our Manston site but required to work flexibly between there and our training venues. Hybrid role with opportunities for some home working. Days of work are Monday to Friday.
What are the requirements of the role?
- You’ll need to have experience of planning, developing and delivering training programmes; including induction and operational training.
- Understanding the MTC business, our working relationship with the Home Office and our objectives will be essential, in addition to your ability to build great relationships with people and key stakeholders across all levels and specialisms.
- As a strong co-ordinator and planner, you’ll be highly organised, with proven project management experience and the ability to make effective management decisions
- Demonstrable experience of partnering and influencing senior managers and leaders across the organisation is highly desirable, as well as being a flexible, adaptable and mobile individual.
- As a creative thinker with energy and a passion for learning and development, you will demonstrate a proactive approach and be willing to work both independently and as part of a team.
Holding a training qualification such as Assessing and Training Qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g. CiLD) would be advantageous to your application. Your strong facilitation skills and the ability to think on your feet, challenge, influence and respond to challenges will be key.
The role will require Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC) so we'll need to ensure you meet the requirements of this security and vetting process.
