Security Officer

Wormsley Estate, Buckinghamshire.

Salary – Circa £27, 000 - £31,000 per annum, depending on experience with an excellent benefits package.

Hours –12-hour shifts (combination of day/night shifts.

Wormsley Estate is a beautiful private Estate set in the rolling countryside of Buckinghamshire, located just off junction 5 of the M40 at Stokenchurch. It is a stunning venue for exclusive events, celebrations, and functions. The Estate attracts many visitors due to its world-famous Cricket Ground where they host a range of Cricket games and events each year. Wormsley Estate is also home to Garsington Opera, a summer opera event based in the 600-seat opera pavilion located within the Estate’s Deer Park with breath-taking views across the surrounding landscape.

The Getty family has called the Wormsley Estate their home since 1985 and their focus is on ensuring a positive and sustainable future for the Estate. About the role of Security Officer at Wormsley Estate

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the small security team at Wormsley to protect the Estate, the family, the properties and all the assets and valuables belonging to the Estate whilst acting responsibly, safely and maintaining the family reputation. There are plenty of opportunities for those interested in growing and developing their career within the Security Team.


Due to the high security nature of this role, all applicants will be required to undergo and pass an enhanced DBS check and a pre-employment medical to ensure they are fit to undertake the role.


Your Responsibilities at Wormsley Estate
  • Conduct external and internal security patrols and prevent unauthorised access onto the Estate.
  • Monitor and respond to fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV and carry out routine tests of security and fire equipment to ensure its effective and safe use.
  • Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties.
  • Provide support, guidance and information to all staff and visitors.
  • Record and report all faults, health and safety hazards and unsafe working practices. Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • General administrative duties which include answering incoming calls and ensuring all paperwork and handovers are completed in a timely fashion.
  • To provide support in the event of an emergency evacuation in a calm and professional manner.

What we are looking for
  • Someone with a SIA Security licence (CCTV licences and First Aid certificates would be an advantage)
  • Working knowledge of security systems, CCTV access control and intruder and fire alarms is essential.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Fire Trained.
  • Be adaptable, flexible, enthusiastic, energetic, conscientious, and trustworthy.
  • Computer literate with ability to use basic functions of Microsoft office packages as well as other security software.
  • A friendly and professional manner with excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with members of the public.
  • A flexible approach and a positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Be able to remain calm and react appropriately to any given situation including emergency situations.
