We have an exciting new opportunity and are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Security officer to join the team in our Security department on a full time, permanent basis, 44 hours per week.

About the role:
The Wellington College security department operates daily by conducting three security shift patterns to facilitate 24/7 security services throughout the College estate and Eagle House School. The overriding purpose of the role is to ensure that pupils, staff and visitors are safeguarded within a comprehensive security service that enables teaching, learning, living and recreation to take place in a safe and secure environment.
The security department also provides a large degree of daily support to the College community in all operational aspects, to ensure that all internal and external activities are supported safely and to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities (Please see JD for full requirements):
- Security Officers are responsible for operating all the required security tasks and functions
- Act as fire ‘first responders’ for all fire activations
- Security staff are required to conduct direct patrolling within the College estate and attend incidents
- Undertake internal and external patrolling on foot, 4x4 vehicle or patrol bikes
- Attend and pro-actively deal with any security-related incidents
- Record all security related or fire incidents in the appropriate format
- Operate security-related and personal protective equipment
- Deal professionally with victims of crime or individuals in confrontational situations
- Maintain a good level of physical fitness to ensure that you can actively and physically fulfill all security tasks/responsibilities
- Pro-actively disrupt criminal activity
