Role:

Reporting to the security manager, working within this flagship building and prestigious environment in Canary Wharf, you will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will be/become well versed in the processes and practices of a Concierge and Security professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role. You will be part of a well drilled security operation.

To ensure synergy across our service providers, we work with a 'one team' approach to successfully deliver an excellent customer journey so in this role you will work closely with catering, cleaning, maintenance, and Front of House teams in order to provide an environment which is welcoming and relaxed yet safe and secure at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and visitors
  • Take an active interest in, and give commitment to the client
  • Ensure that the environment and service is truly excellent and beyond expectation
  • Promote the client, tenants other service providers positively to all you come in to contact with, throughout the customer journey
  • Be flexible and adaptable to all tasks or challenges
  • Be highly presentable, accountable; take responsibility and ownership for any tasks identified or allocated
  • Ensure all contact, be it internal or external; by telephone, face to face or any other medium; is clear, courteous, polite, professional and respectful
  • Ensure complete client/tenant/other service provider confidentiality; protecting people and information is paramount
  • Appropriate use of CCTV/access control and any other electronic management system, and completion of reports and documentation in a timely fashion
  • Be familiar with all Security and Emergency procedures on site and assist in the facilitation of their safe execution and practice. There may also be a need to become a fire marshal and first aider if applicable all training will be provided
  • All Assignment Instructions / Operations Manual or Standard Operating Procedures are to be reviewed, understood, and followed

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome and assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors to the premises in a warm and courteous fashion maintaining excellence as a standard throughout the customer journey
  • Work with all colleagues to ensure the integrity of security on the site
  • Early identification and mitigation of any threats to persons, premises, or property, escalating where appropriate to do so
  • Have an outstanding knowledge of the premises (inside and external) and able to assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors with their queries
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff, visitors, tenants, service providers and clients
  • Have good knowledge of the local area to be able to answer queries regarding local transport links or services in the area for example.

SECURITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the security of people, premises, and property, protecting the reputation of the client/tenants throughout
  • Respond to alarms
  • Ensure a safe and secure working environment for all
  • Check identity and credentials of staff, contractors and visitors where required
  • Record details of any suspected criminal activity on the premises (internal and external); commencing investigative procedures prior to onward reporting where necessary.
  • Carry out proactive patrols, internal & external, as directed by assignment instructions

  • Computer literate and confident with the use of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Demonstrate an awareness of security threats which remain relevant and up to date in the context of the current environment
  • Flexibility regarding working practices, hours and responsibilities.
  • Either a current or valid SIA license
  • Enhanced communication, listening and customer service skills or the ability to train, obtain, retain and develop further in this field.
  • Operation of CCTV/access control communications in an appropriate manner where required
