The role:

Working within this flagship building and prestigious environment. Your primary role is to ensure the security of people, premises, and property, protecting the reputation of the client/tenants throughout. You will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will be/become well-versed in the processes and practices of a Security professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role. You will be part of a well-drilled security operation.

What will you be doing?

  • Participate and contribute positively to the security team.
  • Be committed to Health & Safety and ensure that you are familiar with all Client Health & Safety policies and procedures. Police and encourage observance of all site security & safety policies, in particular ensuring that the access control, key control, smoking, and Health & Safety policies are observed and enforced.
  • Perform at the start/end of each tour of duty verification checks of all the security equipment located within the areas of work ensuring that all systems are fully operational and where they are not, initiate corrective action.
  • Respond to all incidents in a timely and effective manner by directing the activities of all affected persons, aimed at all times to safeguard the assets of the Client ensuring that direction from senior line management is sought where appropriate.
  • Maintain all required records as directed by management to ensure that full transparency of events and their handling is possible.
  • Manage a polite and effective meet and greet service to all staff and visitors, whilst strictly observing access control procedures.
  • To carry out site patrols (internal/external) and stand for long periods.
  • Report building/equipment fault reports where appropriate escalating to the site supervisor and if necessary, requesting the assistance of the site manager in resolving.
  • Operate all associated security technologies (Intruder alarms/ access control system).
  • To complete all administrative tasks to support the above. i.e., File security records and manage the security folders and duty logs.
  • Deal with the access control system, printing cards, and issuance of swipe cards to members of staff.

Security Officer Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors to the premises in a warm and courteous fashion maintaining excellence as a standard throughout the customer journey
  • Early identification and mitigation of any threats to persons, premises, or property, escalating where appropriate to do so.
  • Have outstanding knowledge of the premises (inside and external) and are able to assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors with their queries

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure to relevant Protective Security or Counter Terrorism Advice
  • Previous experience in the security industry within a corporate environment

What we are looking for….

  • At least 2 years of Security experience.
  • Must hold a valid SIA license, DS Preferred
  • 5 years of checkable work history
  • Carry and be capable of using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional security officer.
  • Good IT skills are essential. Previous experience using a visitor management system is preferable.
  • Can do attitude with a focus on 5* customer service.
  • Clear communication skills essential
  • The nature of the role is such that it is essential that the post holder has and will maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
  • Ongoing continuation security training will be provided, and Security staff will be expected to attend training courses, self-development will be expected.
