Do you want a job with a high level of satisfaction? Are you a caring person? Do you enjoy making people happy and feel safe? Then we have the perfect role for you!

The Service and Its Staff:

Our Supported Living Service is a domiciliary support service, offering supported living flats for adults with learning disabilities and autism. The flats are self-contained and offer 24 hour emotional and daily living support needs.

The Mews and Wilton Court are two of these service units, they are purpose built, modern facilities, located in the village of Mirfield and in Cleckheaton close to the town centre. Each service user can decorate their flat to make it feel like a home from home, with their possessions and personal taste.

Working with vulnerable adults, our team ensures the provision of quality care to our service users by carrying out duties in line with service user choice, objectives, policies, procedures, and CQC standards.
Our staff are skilled and compassionate when supporting service users and our person-centred approach promotes dignity and choice, to build their life skills.
Our team work hard to ensure the service users are at the centre of all that we do, often going the extra mile to support our service users to be as happy and fulfilled as possible, developing new skills, supporting them out in the community to carry out every day living tasks such as shopping, banking, medical appointments, celebrating birthdays and enjoying events together.

Testimonial from one of our team:

One of the team members at The Mews says, ‘the service users rely on you, we see them more than their own family and they love living here’.

Another said, ‘It’s a very rewarding job, satisfying and you feel part of their family’.

The Role

We are looking for a caring Waking Night Support Worker to join our team at North Kirklees Support Service.

This role is about offering support and guidance. Asking service users if they require help, to ensure we promote their independence and enable them wherever possible. You are there to develop, prompt and support them.

Working with vulnerable adults, you will be part of a team ensuring the provision of quality care to our service users and carry out duties in line with service objectives, policies, procedures, and standards.

Together with experience of working in a relevant care setting and possession of or willingness to complete The Care Certificate you will have the literacy skills required to enable you to write reports and maintain service user records.

You will provide direct care and support to service users so you will need excellent communication skills and be able to manage service user expectations.

The working hours are between 10pm until 7am on a rolling rota over 7 days, with relevant wage enhancements due to the nature of the role.

It is essential that you have a high level of understanding of Adult Social Care.

You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional training and development and possess a basic awareness of both health and safety issues and food hygiene.

There will be admin duties as this is a waking night role and some cleaning duties.

You will receive full training and full induction and work alongside an experienced team of staff. Managers are visible and have an open-door policy - team work is highly valued.
