JOB DESCRIPTION
To be accountable for directing, organising and helping ensure data protection compliance within the Standard Bank Offshore Group (SBOG). To act as local data protection officer for the all legal entities within SBOG.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience Required
Previous experience of Managing Data Protection within a Financial Services Business including implementing policy and procedures and dealing.
Practitioners Certificate in Data Protection, certified Information Privacy Professional EU (International Association of Privacy professionals (IAAP) Qualification and certified Information Privacy Manager (IAAP) Qualification or equivilant.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Key Responsibilities
Act as contact point for individuals, staff and clients and third parties re data protection issues and the exercise of their rights in relation to those issues
Assess, advise, remedy, and provide governance structure to ensure compliance across all SBOG jurisdictions with applicable data protection legislation
Develop privacy reporting frameworks and provide status updates for SBOG
Maintain a good professional relationship with SBOG data protection supervisory authority and act as primary contact point with that authority in the jurisdiction in which local DPO responsibility is held
Ensure appropriate DPIA policies and procedures are in place for new personal data initiatives across SBOG
Develop and compile relevant reports and assist with the development of appropriate action plans in response to MI, data trends, risk mitigation, RMP controls monitoring, process reviews, data breaches and compliance / operational risk monitoring, training and awareness, etc.
Collaborate with various SBOG stakeholders to continually raise awareness of the importance of good practices for handling personal information
Assist with ad-hoc personal data related projects when required
