Security Officer
Summary
A highly motivated individual is required to join our friendly in-house Security team, this is a demanding but rewarding role where you will be providing a proactive and holistic approach to the protection and care for all St Mary’s personnel, property and buildings.
This varied role demands that a calm approach is taken at all times with the successful candidate demonstrating a commitment to creating a safe/secure, learning, working and living environment at St Mary’s University.
Job Details
Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- To provide a 24-hour security and fire protection presence on our main campus or any other premises owned/leased by St Mary’s University.
- To prevent, and within the law, assist with the detection of crime on University property, and maintain liaison with local police where necessary.
- To carry out initial investigations, giving First Aid where necessary, and supply written reports to the Security Operations Manager.
- To monitor and, where necessary, enforce the car parking system for the University, ticketing and issuing warning notices or passes when appropriate.
- To conduct regular patrols of University property to ensure the safety and assurance of its inhabitants, whilst maintaining a crime prevention profile.

Qualifications / Training:
Having a current Door Supervisor SIA Licence is an essential requirement for the successful candidate, and a CCTV SIA Licence is desirable. For the correct candidate CCTV SIA licence can be obtained in post.
Relevant First Aid training and Uniform attire will be provided during employment.
