Manufacturing Operator – Pre-Finishing

£13.40ph to £26.80ph
gap personnel Exeter are currently recruiting for Manufacturing Operators based within the Pre-Finishing department at global manufacturing giants Howmet Aerospace, located at Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, EX2.
You will be joining a company of innovators and makers. The role of a Manufacturing Operator is a key position within not only the operations of the site, but also within the supply chain into both the aerospace and gas industries. The site is solely focused on 2 factors: Quality & Safety.
As a Manufacturing Operator within the Pre-Finishing department your main responsibilities are:
- High level of focus around EH&S.
- Attention to detail and strong quality focus.
- Inspecting, processing, and passing castings through the different operation.
- Working flexibly withing a small team to ensure all process roles are covered.
- Following Howmet Business System (HSB) principles to drive strong product efficiency. (Participating in problem solving and improvement activities).
- To carry out any other reasonable duty as may be required.
- Daily operation of the following equipment, Cut-off M/C’s, Grind M/C’s, UHP water blasters, Hand grinders, cutting tools, operation of hoists and grit blasting M/C’s.
This role can be physically challenging with items weighing between 10-15kg which are required to be safely moved or loaded throughout the shift.

Successful candidates will complete a site interview, medical health assessment, drug & alcohol test and induction prior to starting their assignment. You will be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff. Operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business. Abide by health and safety legislation in respect of yourself and others.
