Sheffield Teaching Hospitals has approved additional funding to expand its security team allowing the deployment of a member into the Emergency Department.
You will be required to work as per the rota in place which provides 24/7 cover, 365 days a year.
You will be an integral part of both the existing security team but also the Emergency Department. We are looking for individuals who want to be part of this new service and they must be able to demonstrate compassion & customer care skills. They are key to the success of the role.
Full training and support will be provided, currently our training includes MAYBO.
We can guarantee that each day is different. You may be patrolling, observing patients or just a reassuring presence within the department for staff, visitors and patients.
Key to your success in the post is that you recognise the majority of incidents you will respond to involve patients and it is highly likely that they are not deliberately causing the need for securities involvement. A strong adherence and demonstration of the PROUD values of the Trust are required.
Please note this vacancy is for 3 part time roles, two at 21.33 hours per week and one at 18.75 hours per week.
Maintaining a highly visible deterrent by patrolling of hospital sites on foot. In doing this checking all property and land associated with the Trust is secure and free of hazard.
Carryout Control room duties including monitoring of CCTV when providing cover for Control Room staff.
Unlocking and locking of departments and taking off and resetting alarms as required either as routine or one off requirements, following site specific procedures, including for pre-arranged contractor works.
Escort and protect staff as required to maintain safety and security of staff, premises and equipment.
Collection and /or delivery of cash/cash boxes as instructed.
Logging of lost property handed into security and creating and maintaining an appropriate audit log of that property.
Receipt/issue of stores/equipment.
To ensure that all patients, staff and visitors are courteously received and assisted.
Security marking of Trust equipment.
Assisting with mortuary duties out of hours.
Digital lock codes and maintaining records.
