Job description
The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is to support Aberdeen Oil & Gas offshore operations in Aviation Security (AVSEC) and the delivery of customer services.Candidates must be willing to work shifts, including weekends, as part of a closely knit team in a fast paced environment.Main Tasks:Conduct X-ray screening and 100% hand search of passenger baggage ensuring compliance with company, customer and regulatory requirements.Conduct ID checks and passenger body searches.Perform security patrols of company facilities and leased areas.Monitor passengers in the terminal areas and carry out breathalyser checks as required.Provide timely flight updates to passengers and arrange catering provision as required.Ensure the correct aircraft safety briefing is delivered.Work alongside survival-suit providers to ensure passenger safety equipment is donned correctly.Escort passengers to their aircraft and ensure they are seated correctly.Assist customers with drug & alcohol (D&A) testing and detector-dog operations.Perform inbound passenger and baggage searches to monitor compliance with customer, industry and regulatory standards..Ensure tidiness of departure gates, including stock checks.Assist in the loading, unloading and cleaning of aircraft as required.Perform required daily, weekly, monthly checks of equipment, including fire alarm systems.Identify and report safety issues.Compliance with the Ground Operations Manual and company HSE procedures.Assist other Ground Operations functions as required.Any other appropriate duty.Skills Profile:Experience in a similar AVSEC role is desirable but not essential.The ideal candidate must;Have a strong safety ethos.Be an able communicator with a high level of customer service.Be able to handle confrontation professionally.Be capable of reacting to last minute operational changes.Be able to pass and maintain the Ground Security Operative (GSO) and National X-ray Competency Test (NXCT) training.Please note the advert may close before the posted deadline.Job Types: Permanent, Full-timeSalary: From £24,046.00 per yearBenefits:Company pensionEmployee discountFree flu jabsFree parkingOn-site parkingReferral programmeSick payStore discountSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityWork Location: In personApplication deadline: 27/10/2023Reference ID: SO1010
