Dog Day-care Assistant & Driver
We are small family run dog day-care centre in the Tunbridge Wells area looking for a new member who shares our passion and love for dogs. It’s important to us that all dogs in our care get to play and socialise in a safe environment as well as feel not just physically but also mentally stimulated and understood. We provide great customer service to each owner by sending them pictures and updates of their dogs so they feel included and involved in anything to do with their dogs day and development.
We are looking for someone resilient, who will enjoy being outside on the go most of the day -whatever the weather, and who is patient and understanding of dogs of all ages and sizes.
Job description
- In the mornings you will be picking up dogs from their homes in our company van to take them to the day care centre.
- You will be constantly supervising the dogs playing and interacting with each other.
- You will be responsible for feeding puppies who have been given their packed lunches and encouraging down time for young dogs
- You will be doing fun, stimulating activities with the dogs such as basic training and agility (using positive reinforcement methods)
- You will be sending pictures and updates to the owners of their dog’s day
- On muddy days you will be washing the dogs to ensure they are returned home clean
- You will be responsible for keeping the premises and the vehicle you use clean
- At the end of the day you will return the dogs home safe
Essential Requirements
- A clean UK driving license (you must be comfortable driving a bigger van such as Ford Transit or VW Transporter)
- Experience with dogs
- Calm, cool, collected and resilient
- Great customer service skills
- Capable of working within a team as well as alone
Desirable Requirements Dog First Aid trained
- Any other dog related qualifications are an advantage (especially IMDT)
