Job Title: Corporate Counsel
Salary: £70,607 – £88,259 (Depending on experience)
Location : Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Benefits:
25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
Up to 20% bonus
Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution Up to 10%
Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution

What are we looking for?
Caterpillar seeks an experienced Corporate Counsel to support business locations across the Europe, Africa, and Middle East region, including in the U.K., France, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Poland. Based in Peterborough, UK, this position will include a focus on facilities in Caterpillar’s Construction Industries business segment, which manufactures innovative and differentiated construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, and tractors, for customers in industries such as infrastructure, forestry and building construction.

This role supports the global Human Resources strategy for a diverse and multifaceted organization of over 100,000 full-time personnel located throughout the world. Responsibilities
Deliver legal counsel and support of our regional business operations on a wide range of labor and employment matters
Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with Human Resources and business leadership, stakeholders, and Legal Services colleagues across a global organization
Collaborate with colleagues to provide strategic employment and labor law counsel and drive successful outcomes in complex and highly sensitive matters
Manage disputes from claim through litigation, including the retention and direction of external counsel as necessary
Identify and assess legal risks and new developments and advise internal business partners and leadership on development and implementation of policies and procedures
Provide legal training based on risk assessment, strategic objectives, and legal developments
Qualifications
Master’s degree in law (or equivalent qualifications for legal practice)
Fluent working French speaker
Skills & Experience
Working knowledge of employment and labor law practice experience managing matters for global clients in European jurisdictions, through a large law firm or combination of firm and private corporate settings
Excellent communication skills with a commitment to integrity, professionalism, collegiality, and keeping stakeholders appropriately informed
Good business acumen and experience developing and recommending practical and strategic approaches to legal challenges facing business clients
Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate effectively with senior level managers and both in-house and outside counsel
Ability to travel internationally (up to 15%).
