Shifts & Hours: 12 hour shifts, 42 hours a week, 4 on/4 off, rotating day and night shifts
Hourly Rate: £14.14 (paid breaks)

Job Overview
The security officer may work in any of the many core team roles across the numerous operational areas or be dedicated to one role (depending on operational requirements)
Roles include: front of house, restaurants, service entrance, loading bay, post room, external patrol, internal patrol and when trained, the security control room.
The officer will therefore be required to successfully undertake cross training for the majority of roles on the contract in order to effectively cover any position.
Main Duties
As various roles may be covered, you must be highly flexible and capable to deliver a range of security services to ensure effective management of all aspects of each operational area. Duties include security and safety of staff, occupiers and visitors, key management, processing permits, access control, security screening, managing the access control system with processing all aspects of building access cards.
IT competence (Excel, MS Word, Google sheets) is essential as the security officer will manage numerous systems and produce various reports and documents.
- Cover any role on the contract as operationally required
- Cover roles as a security officer in the front of house, restaurants, service entrance, loading bay, post room, external patrol & internal patrol
- Successfully complete step up/cross training for all roles on the contract in order to effectively cover any position
- Work various roles as directed and/or work specifically within one role for short, medium and long term periods
- Understand and delivery the expected operational standards, service delivery and customer service in each role conducted.
- Ensuring the safety and security of our clients' buildings and assets by carrying out all duties in full adherence with the Site Assignment Instructions
- Following site specific Assignment Instructions, SOP's and procedures
- Providing emergency response to incidents
- Complying with H&S policies
- Flexible approach to working various roles and locations
- Demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times
- Geographical awareness of their local surroundings.
- Cover sickness, holiday and provide support to the core team when required whilst on shift
- Fully competent with IT, site systems and equipment
- Answer phones & respond to emails
- Fully proficient in the evacuation and emergency procedures
- Display vigilance whilst on shift
- Report to the Security Duty Manager, Logistics and Front of House Managers
- Maintain a flexible and professional approach
- Act as a brand ambassador of Shard Quarter and Mitie at all times
- Observe the dress code at all times
- Completed client and company reports and documentation
- Have knowledge of the departments and companies operating within the building including their structure and function in order to gain an understanding of the business as a whole
- Work as part of a close team, communicating effectively with others.
- Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner, complying with all client and company policies and procedures.
- Incident and emergency response
- Effectively manage and operate all site systems and equipment – reporting and resolving any faults and issues
