Security Officer

Due to the continual growth of our award-winning global reputation and the expansion of our campus we are seeking to enhance our excellent and well-respected in-house Security and Portering team to ensure continued success.
The role is key to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the University community through the protection of people, property and assets.
The role will be based at the beautiful rural location at our Newport campus. You should have a reasonable level of physical fitness to carry out patrols of the Campus and surrounding land holdings. The successful applicants would ideally have experience in working in an Education or similar environment which provides day time and night time accommodation for people aged 18 plus but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
Most important is to enjoy working with people have a positive can-do attitude and the ability to work both as part of a team as well as with limited supervision using your initiative. You will be confident and outgoing with both excellent customer care and communication skills. You will be a responsible, credible security professional who will work to a high standard, operating at all times with integrity, discretion and honesty when dealing with sensitive issues.
You will be working on a 12-hour shift covering 24/7 performing a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern. The shift will be 0800hrs – 2000hrs and 2000hrs – 0800hrs 365 days of the year
Full on-site training will be provided you will also be expected to attend any training courses deemed necessary to aid you whilst carrying out your duties. A full driving license is desirable for this role.
