We now have an excellent opportunity for a professional and motivated Security Officer to join the team, to provide security services to a site based in York City Centre.

The position:

  • Permanent
  • Thursday – Sunday shift pattern (12 hour shifts)
  • Immediate start available, subject to vetting and passing safeguarding checks
  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential

Main responsibilities:


  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
  • Conducts locks and unlocks
  • Obtains help by sounding alarms
  • Prevents any losses and damage by reporting irregularities
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  • Liaises with the in-house team
  • Reception/concierge duties, as and when required
  • Light facilities management duties, including the setting up and tidying/clearing of meeting rooms to preferred style (training to be provided)


Required skills and attributes:

  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence
  • 1 years’ experience in a similar role (preferable)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with the general public and engage/advise when necessary
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty
  • Strong surveillance skills
  • Professionalism
  • A full, clean, UK driving licence (preferred but not essential) and own transportation to site
