The Opportunity
The role of Security Guard supports the delivery of the required security standards on our nuclear power station in order to maintain the integrity of the site security plan and meet regulatory requirements. This position will require you to work shifts.
Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £30,650 - £43,009, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. You will also be entitled to the associated shift allowance.

What you’ll be doing
In this position, you’ll be:
Ensuring effective control of access to site- Ensuring integrity of site boundaries through patrols and reporting
- Meeting company and regulatory requirements with respect to search and entry of people and vehicles onto site and into controlled areas
- Responding to emergencies in accordance with procedures and direction from team leaders
- Maintaining security logs, key registers, search registers and other related records in accordance with technical training and company procedures
- Liaising with Civil Nuclear Constabulary /Home Office Police/Police Scotland/Security Regulator and other government bodies as required
- Monitoring physical security alarm management systems, access control systems and other security assets, responding in accordance with technical competence training.
Who you are
You’ll need an NVQ Level 2 in security or equivalent experience as well as exemplary people skills for a demanding customer-facing role. You should have a good level of computer literacy for monitoring and responding to security systems. Knowledge and expertise of station security regime standards required for this post can be obtained through a combination of training and experience.
