We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's forward thinking and ambitious Food and Safety Team as one of two Lead Food and Safety Officers, to provide technical specialist support and advice to the team. Technically competent at the highest level, you will have significant and extensive regulatory experience within food and workplace health and safety enforcement.
The work will be varied and the responsibilities as a Lead Food and Safety Officer will include a wide range of advisory and regulatory activities covering food safety, occupational health and safety, infectious disease control and port health. You will help implement our current food and health & safety service plan and play a key role in developing our future plans. Reporting to the Food and Safety Manager, you will have line management responsibilities within the team.
You will deliver continuous improvement in processes and practices within the Food and Safety Team and across the wider organisation to support the rapidly changing environment. You will have strong leadership skills and a wealth of professional knowledge and technical expertise in all areas plus technical competence working within an enforcement role. You will need to be a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
