We have an interesting opportunity for a Security Manager to support with all security related matters across our UK and Ireland sites. This is a superb chance to for a skilled Security Expert to join our team and really add some value.
Location: Flexible, with the requirement to travel frequently to sites across the UK and Ireland.

What will you be doing?
Ensuring the business is compliant with Facilities and Transport Security requirements- Ensuring all security systems on sites are efficient and maintained in good working order
- Participating in at least 2 site audits every month & publish results
- Conducting investigations for major incidents, cargo loss prevention projects, or ad hoc projects as and when directed
- Preparing and circulating weekly reports of security events and security trends
- Ensuring AEO, TAPA and internal DB Schenker security standards are complied with
- Work closely with our Aviation Security Managers at CAA and IAA regulated sites
- Designing security layout for all new buildings and manage required upgrades for existing portfolio
- Work closely with our Real Estate and Facilities Teams on new sites & site upgrades and review, recommend, and validate new security systems
- Work closely with our Head of Risk on threats to UK and Ireland business
- Review and vet subcontractors used for strategic accounts and/or routes (both freight and non-freight)
- Monitor global security standard requirements, raise awareness and ensure continuous improvement
- Initiate, implement and coordinate security initiatives and countermeasures
- Single point of contact for matters of security from customers, RFQs & contract reviews
- Prepare and deliver security training, ensuring that it is up to date and relevant to colleagues
About You
Significant experience in security or relevant academic degree.- Previous experience of managing security for a multi-site operation
- Knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and systems
- Knowledge of relevant security regulations and legislation.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding operational aspects within Land/Road, Air, or Ocean Freight an advantage
- Excellent understanding of technical security systems (CCTV/Alarms/Access control)
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
- Analytical skills with ability to investigate
- Disciplined, organised and able to work under time & financial pressures
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Leadership skills and the ability to advocate a living security culture on all levels
- Proactive working style
- Knowledge of TAPA standards and Aviation security would be desirable
