Job Description
To support the Security Supervisor in Managing the Day to Day routines of the Security Team, Planning Staffing, Rotas and Daily Positions as required. Ensuring Day to Day routines are followed and relevant security Checks are completed to maintain a safe and secure working environment. To support the team as a Security Guard and manning the CCTV Control room when required, as well as investigating customer and staff incidents and reviewing Figures and Losses.
Job Objectives
- To uphold the Company’s policies and procedures in all security related matters and to report any breaches of Company policy
- To be confident in following the Company’s emergency procedures and dealing with incidents in store.
- To provide a fair and consistent level of enforcement of all policies and procedures and to represent the Company in a professional manner, maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times
- To identify and advise management and staff of any possible stock loss risks or best practice in loss prevention
- To detect, apprehend and detain persons responsible for stealing Company property, cash and/or merchandise, and following Company policy and procedures in the conviction of individuals
- To conduct regular and random searches of employee and contractors’ possessions, within the Company’s policies
- To maintain a high standard of personal professional knowledge relating to Criminal Law, court procedures and security equipment
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff, customers and visitors to the store
- Review and update store policies to ensure they are relevant and realistic
- To help build action plans following 6 monthly stocktakes to ensure the security team are focusing on the relevant areas of the business and minimising current risks and threats.
- To work confidently with Emergency Services (Police, Fire etc) when dealing with in store or external incidents.
Qualifications & Experience required
- Experience of working in a security related role in a retail environment
- Have experience in using a CCTV System, reviewing footage and saving relevant footage of an incident.
- Have knowledge of Emergency procedures and how to deal with Incidents such as Fire, Theft, Break Ins etc.
- Have a basic IT Skills and knowledge of Excel to be able to look at transactions and data to identify any risks to the store/business
- To have experience in planning daily/weekly rotas, daily guarding positions while still working within the team when required.
- Have experience delivering training and upskilling a team of people on new procedures and identifying training needs.
- Requires a Current SIA License
- CCTV License is beneficial but not required
- Needs to be flexible in working hours to cover all hours of the operating day, Higher risk days are Thur - Sun.
- Requires transport to be able to get to store in and out of store hours
