About the role

Grafham Water Centre is a well-established busy multi activity Centre which has over 50 years of teaching experience. Based on the shores of a large reservoir in Cambridgeshire it accommodates 200+ young people on a residential basis and has multiple facilities for up to 300 young people a day. It is complemented by an extensive range of water and land based activities which includes Archery, Bush Craft, Climbing, High and Low Ropes, Mountain Biking, Orienteering, Problems Solving / Team Building, Canoeing, Kayaking, Stand up Paddle boarding, Powerboat, Raft Building, Sailing, Windsurfing and more.

The opportunity has arisen to appoint a Business Development Manager, who will assist the Head of Centre in the strategic planning and operation of the Centres’ business. Grafham Water Centre has an ambitious development plan. The Centre operates with a commercially minded approach and aims to provide high quality outdoor learning and recreational facilities to the residents of Cambridgeshire. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading in a range of business areas including; policy development, performance management, business planning, financial management, customer development, profile raising, fundraising and partnership development. They will lead a small team and work closely with the Head of Centre and other departments to develop, promote and implement business improvements across the Centre.

The position is on a fixed term contract for 2 years and the post holder is required to work on an annualised hours basis.

What will you be doing?

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading in a range of business areas including; policy development, performance management, business planning, financial management, customer development, profile raising, fundraising and partnership development.
