This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our University's Security Service, responsible for all aspects of security within the University community, buildings and property. As a Controller you will be responsible for the security, safety and well being of all students, staff, official visitors and contractors of the University. Duties will include the administration of first aid when appropriate, you will therefore hold a First Aid certificate (or equivalent) or be willing to undertake the course as part of your role. You must have previous experience of working within a security related role, and this will have included gaining experience and knowledge of security issues and functions working as part of a modern control room operation e.g. the use of CCTV, Building Management Systems and Intruder Alarms. The Control Room is staffed on a 24 hour basis which is reflected in a rotating shift pattern, therefore a flexible approach to rostered working and a sound knowledge of current health and safety issues are essential.
